Kelly A. Frawley is a partner in Sterlington’s Matrimonial and Family Law practice. She represents high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients across the full range of matrimonial and family law matters, including divorce, equitable distribution of assets and liabilities, custody, child and spousal support, paternity, and civil orders of protection. She also drafts and negotiates prenuptial and postnuptial agreements. Kelly regularly handles matters involving hedge funds and private equity interests.

Prior to Sterlington, Kelly was a partner and chair of the Matrimonial and Family Law practice at Kasowitz.

Kelly is both a skilled negotiator and litigator. She secures favorable settlements for her clients and, where litigation is unavoidable, prepares the matter for trial and serves as lead counsel. She began her career as a narcotics prosecutor at the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, where she developed the trial skills that continue to define her practice. Her practice is before the New York State Supreme Court and Family Court. She advises clients throughout the New York metropolitan area and elsewhere in the United States.

Kelly is recognized as a leading matrimonial lawyer by Spear’s 500, which lists her in its Family Lawyers Index, and she has been selected to Super Lawyers® for Family Law and to Best Lawyers® in America. She has been named a Notable Woman in Law by Crain’s New York Business, a Family Law Trailblazer by the National Law Journal, a Woman Worth Watching by Diversity Journal and to Lawline’s Top Women Faculty.

A frequent author and commentator, Kelly previously contributed to Forbes in a semi-monthly column and a monthly column in Arianna Huffington’s Thrive Global website. Kelly has been quoted in the national press including The New York Times and CNBC, and lectures on matrimonial and family law for the New York State Bar Association, the Practising Law Institute, and Lawline. She serves on the Executive Committee of the New York State Bar Association’s Family Law Section and co-chairs its Public Service and Education Committee.

Kelly received her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and her B.A. in economics, cum laude, from St. John’s University. She is admitted to practice in New York, California and New Jersey.
