Robyn Charles is the Executive Director of Education Media LLC, an instructional systems and professional learning company focused on helping legal professionals, educators, and organizations adapt to major shifts in how work is performed, documented, and delivered. Her work sits at the intersection of AI-assisted research, structured documentation, workflow design, and professional learning.

Armed with a B.A. and M.F.A. from UCLA and more than two decades of experience in education, workforce development, and media systems, Robyn has developed a specialized methodology for building AI-integrated legal workflows — one grounded not in theory, but in direct, firsthand experience navigating complex legal matters as a self-represented party against institutional opponents.

Her methodology emerged from two parallel legal matters: a federal trademark opposition before the USPTO's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) against a major technology corporation, and a public-sector procurement dispute involving the unauthorized appropriation of her proprietary instructional systems by a large urban school district. In both matters, she deployed an AI-assisted research and documentation workflow to build evidentiary records, reconstruct timelines, identify institutional patterns, and draft responsive filings at a level that matched or exceeded the output of well-resourced opposing counsel.

These experiences form the methodological and experiential backbone of her CLE content. Robyn does not teach AI tools in the abstract. She teaches the specific operational workflows, platform-fluency decisions, and documentation strategies that determine whether AI assistance produces legally reliable, strategically coherent output — or creates liability.

Robyn is also the developer of the Legal Matter Intelligence System (LMIS), a structured methodology for organizing AI-assisted legal workflows around the matter record — enabling legal professionals to generate informed, legally coherent outputs in seconds rather than hours, with a knowledge base that grows and compounds as the case evolves.

She presents to bar associations, CLE providers, law schools, and in-house legal departments on AI literacy, AI workflow design, AI judgment, and AI leadership — the four capability areas her framework identifies as essential for legal organizations operating in an AI-shaped professional environment.
